The theme of this chess is the Battle of Waterloo, fought on June 18, 1815. This battle is considered one of the most significant military clashes in history, as it resulted in the decisive defeat of the French troops under the command of Napoleon against the allied forces of the British, Dutch, Germans and Prussians. After Napoleon's exile to the island of Elba, he began a series of military actions that became known as the "Hundred Days". These events culminated in the clash at Waterloo, where Napoleon tried to overcome the allied forces that had gathered under the command of the Duke of Wellington and Field Marshal Blücher. The Battle of Waterloo ended not only the Napoleonic Empire, but also an entire era in European history. The victory of the allied forces led to the exile of Napoleon to the island of Saint Helena, where he would live until his death in 1821.
